Tottenham will be back at Europe's top table come September after securing Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League final. Spurs endured a dismal 2024/25 season domestically and finished 17th in the Premier League table, yet their trophy success in Bilbao saw them clinch a place in UEFA's premier competition.
Speaking after the 4-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day of the season, Ange Postecoglou made it clear that Tottenham needed to add some players to their squad with Champions League experience. The Australian will not be leading Spurs into Europe this campaign following his dismissal, with Thomas Frank instead set to get his first taste of Champions League football after making the move from Brentford.
In terms of signings players who have previously played in the Champions League, Mathys Tel's loan move from Bayern Munich has become permanent and Mohammed Kudus has joined from West Ham. Spurs have a lot more to do in the transfer market and the hope will be that a few more players with Champions League know-how are added to the ranks.

Tottenham already know their Premier League calendar for the new term but they will have to wait a little while longer to discover their European opponents. The Champions League qualification rounds got underway earlier this week and they will draw to a conclusion with the play-off round at the end of August.
The draw for the Champions League league phase will then take place on Thursday, August 28. Tottenham enter at that stage of the competition and will be drawn against two teams from each of the four pots to determine their eight opponents.
We already know 29 of the 36 teams who have already qualified for the 2025/26 edition of the Champions League, with the final seven to seal their place via the play-off round. The pots for August's draw are starting to take shape and six potential Pot 1 opponents are already clear to see as Tottenham cannot come up against fellow Premier League teams Manchester City, Liverpool or Chelsea.
