10th and 12th-grade certificates are crucial for everything from employment to education. Many people across the country have not yet completed their 10th and 12th grades. Similarly, many are dissatisfied with their 10th and 12th-grade marks. An important option is available for all such individuals. If they want to obtain their 10th and 12th-grade certificates immediately, they can take an on-demand exam. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) runs a special program for this.
Let's learn about the NIOS On-Demand Examination Program. When are the results released? How can one participate?
What is meant by an On-Demand Exam?
On-demand exams mean that students can take the exam whenever they are ready. While all other boards, including the CBSE, conduct 10th and 12th grade exams only once a year, NIOS has introduced on-demand exams for student convenience. For example, students can apply for the 10th or 12th grade exams as soon as they decide they want to appear. They can appear for the exam shortly after applying. NIOS conducts on-demand exams daily.
NIOS's On-Demand Examination System
NIOS has been conducting on-demand exams since 2003, initially introducing on-demand exams for 10th-grade students. In 2007, on-demand exams for 12th-grade students began.
How the Paper is Prepared
NIOS has established a system for preparing papers for on-demand exams. The exam paper is available in Hindi and English only. However, candidates can answer in their regional languages. The papers are prepared specially. For example, a set of papers is created using a computer from a pre-prepared question bank.
When are results released?
The results for the NIOS On-Demand exam are released every month. Students who took the On-Demand exam can check their results on the official NIOS website. NIOS only prints the results of students who complete the exam. Importantly, students who took the On-Demand exam between May and October will be considered to have their results for the April session. Students who took the exam between November and April will be considered to have their results for the May session.
