The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released an official notification for recruitment to a total of 2,569 Junior Engineer positions. Candidates interested in joining the Railways as Junior Engineers will soon be able to apply online. The application process for these positions will begin on October 31st. Candidates will also be given time from December 3rd to December 12th to make corrections to their forms.
Salary:
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₹35,400.
Age Limit:
The minimum age for applying for Junior Engineer positions is 18 years, and the maximum age is 33 years. However, age relaxations are available. SC and ST candidates will be given a 5-year age relaxation, OBC candidates will be given a 3-year relaxation, and candidates with disabilities will be given a 10-year relaxation.
Application Fee
The application fee for these positions has been determined category-wise. The application fee for General, EWS, and OBC candidates is ₹500, while the application fee for SC, ST, women, and disabled candidates is ₹250.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will be selected based on Stage 1, Stage 2, document verification, and medical examination. In the Stage 1 exam, candidates will be asked 100 multiple-choice questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science, carrying 100 marks. This exam will be conducted for a total of 90 minutes, with negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer. Additionally, a Stage 2 exam will be conducted for the selected candidates. In the Stage-2 exam, candidates will be asked 150 multiple-choice type questions.
