New Delhi: Sasidhar Chinta and Lakshmi Priyadarshini Chinta of Hyderabad-based conglomerate Vishwa Samudra Group have bought a 883-square metre bungalow in Delhi's Jor Bagh area for ₹140 crore, documents showed.
The sale deed for the transaction got registered in June this year and the executives have paid ₹8.96 crore stamp duty.
Vishwa Samudra Group is a multinational business conglomerate with interests in engineering and infrastructure.
The group did not respond to ET's email query.
The property was jointly owned and 10 representatives from the seller side had to sign the documents.
The latest transaction adds to a string of high-value deals in the Lutyens' Bungalow Zone (LBZ), underscoring continued demand for trophy assets in India's most prestigious neighbourhood. The LBZ and south Delhi have seen multiple transactions of ₹100 crore and above in the recent past.
"Lutyens Delhi is always in demand from businesspersons from outside Delhi as well. People want the address and are ready to pay the market price for it," said Pradeep Prajapati, founder of boutique real estate consultancy firm Wealthvisory Capital.
Located in the heart of India's power corridor, LBZ spans 28 sq km and houses around 3,000 bungalows, primarily occupied by ministers, judges, and senior government officials.
Roughly 600 properties in the area are privately owned by some of India's wealthiest individuals.
