Samsung has officially launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, at a global event held on Wednesday. The device debuted alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, bringing a series of design refinements, hardware upgrades, and new software enhancements. Notably, it is among the first Samsung phones to ship with Android 16-based One UI 8.
Galaxy Z Flip 7: Key Specifications and Features
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 introduces several improvements over its predecessor. It features a new 4.1-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED cover display, replacing the previous folder-style screen seen in the Z Flip 6. The primary display remains a 6.9-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, with both screens supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The external display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Samsung’s 3nm Exynos 2500 processor, paired with 12GB RAM and storage options up to 512GB. The phone measures 6.5mm thick when unfolded, making it slimmer than the Flip 6, and weighs 188 grams. When folded, the thickness increases to 13.7mm.
Camera and AI Features
The phone features a dual rear camera setup: a 50MP primary sensor with 2x optical-quality zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, it includes a 10MP selfie camera embedded within the inner display.
Samsung has introduced the new ProVisual Engine, offering AI-powered photography and editing tools. Other AI-based features include Transcript Assist, Note Assist, Call Assist, and Live Translation, alongside Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini integration.
Design, Battery, and Build
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 4,300mAh battery, a newly engineered Armour FlexHinge, and a durable Armour Aluminium frame. It also carries an IP48 rating, indicating strong dust and water resistance.
New productivity tools include the Now Bar, a floating widget for media and notifications, and Now Brief, which provides daily summaries directly on the cover display.
