Navratri Kanya Bhoj Thali: During the nine days of Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. Kanya Puja is performed on the seventh, eighth, or ninth day of this sacred nine-day festival. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Durga and offer a Kanya Bhoj. The fast is broken by feeding young girls. Kanya Bhoj is considered an important part of the Goddess's farewell. On this occasion, dishes dear to the Goddess are prepared and offered to her, then served to the girls. It is also important to follow certain rules while preparing the offerings, as only then will the fast yield the full benefits. So, let's explore what dishes should be included in the Kanya Bhoj.

What should be on the Kanya Bhoj Thali?
Kheer
Kheer is given special importance during Kanya Pujan. Kheer, made from rice, milk, sugar, and nuts, is considered to please the Goddess. Be sure to serve kheer on her plate during Kanya Pujan.
Halwa-Poori
Halwa-Poori is considered a mandatory offering during the Kanya Pujan (girl worship) on Navratri. On this day, offer Puri and semolina pudding to Goddess Durga. Then, serve it to the girls.
Black Gram
Black gram also holds great significance in the Navratri offerings. It is cooked without onion or garlic and served with Puri. According to scriptures, an offering to the Goddess is considered incomplete without black gram.
Fruits and Sweets
Fresh fruits and sweets are also offered to the Goddess. Fruits like coconut, banana, and apple are commonly offered. Batasha (sweets) are also included in the offerings.

Don't Make These Mistakes During the Kanya Bhoj
The dishes prepared for Kanya Pujan should be completely pure and sacred.
Onion and garlic should be avoided in their preparation.
It is believed that only pure and sattvic food is loved by the Goddess, and this is what makes the Kanya Bhoj a successful one.
