Laura WhitmoreSpeaking about the series, Laura stated: "We're trying to understand the psychology as much as possible, but also, it's about who we can speak to. We speak to as many people around the victim as possible to give them power and a voice, because we can't speak to the victim."
In her quest to empower the victims and their families, Laura further added: "When this show about teenage killers first came up, which sadly we see in the papers more and more, it felt more relevant than ever.
"It's really difficult, but we need to do this in a way that feels sensitive, but also importantly, empowering for the victim's families because I think a lot of their power and dignity is taken away, particularly with how it's covered in the press sometimes. I wanted to create something that gave the victims power."
Laura Whitmore on Britain’s Killer Teens, starts Monday 8th September 9pm on Crime+Investigation.
