Jeff Stelling says Wrexham's Hollywood co-owners won't want to hear Phil Parkinson's latest request for new signings. The Welsh club have suffered a difficult start to life in the Championship after registering just one point from their opening three games.
Parkinson's side had looked on course to secure all three points in their latest fixture at home against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Wrexham raced into a 2-0 first-half lead over the troubled Owls courtesy of two goals from summer signing Kieffer Moore.
However, Wednesday rallied after the interval as they got back into the game through captain Barry Bannan before Bailey Cadamarteri equalised nine minutes before full time. Wrexham boss Parkinson has so far brought in 10 new players this summer at an estimated cost of around £23million.

Speaking after Saturday's draw, the former Bolton and Bradford boss admitted he would like to add "one or two" more additions before next Monday's transfer deadline day. But former Sky Sports presenter Stelling thinks Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac won't appreciate his remarks after already splashing out a significant amount of money.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "It's been this incredible uphill climb they've had but they've spent £23m in pre-season at the moment. That's just less than Inter Milan and manager Phil Parkinson admits the spending might not be over. Now, if I'm Ryan Reynolds or Rob McElhenney, those are not words I want to hear."
Stelling's co-host Ally McCoist echoed his sentiments and believes Wrexham need to consolidate in the second tier for a couple of seasons. Reynolds and Mac have already made it clear that they want to take their club to the Premier League.

But the former Rangers striker reckons the two actors need to temper their expectations for now, despite Wrexham achieving three consecutive promotions. His comments follow the Red Dragons' early defeats to Southampton and West Brom.
McCoist said: "The climb and the ascent has to plateau out at some point. There's no way I could see them going all the way straight to the top flight. I think this season is the season that it's going to plateau. Then, from their point of view, they'd want to make the journey again and get to the top flight.
"There has to be a realisation. It’s never just going to be climb, climb, climb, and you have to find a level. I think they’ve more than found it right now and results in this early stage of the season would indicate that."
Wrexham have spent an unprecedented amount of money this summer compared to the club's previous spending, breaking their transfer record on three occasions. Empoli left-back Liberato Cacace was the first new arrival to surpass the benchmark set by the £2m signing of Reading striker Sam Smith in January after joining for an initial £2.16m.
That was later topped by the acquisition of Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien for a fee reported to be between £3m and £5m. Wrexham then smashed the record again by landing Ipswich Town forward Nathan Broadhead in a deal worth £7.5m, which could eventually rise to as much £10m.
Despite the substantial outlay, Parkinson was clear when quizzed after the draw with Sheffield Wednesday that he thinks more reinforcements are needed. "The squad is decent as it stands but we will have a chat as a staff and decide," he said.
"One or two players may be going and one or two may be coming in. It might be some extra bodies in to make sure we've got options to freshen a team up during a game, and tactically we'll look at things."
