Aditya Roy Kapur and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s much-anticipated series ‘Rakt Brahmand – The Bloody Kingdom’ may never see the light of day. As per reports, the ambitious fantasy project by Netflix India, directed by Raj & DK, is facing serious financial and production hurdles that have brought the shoot to a complete standstill.
What’s the Issue?-
The shoot has been on hold for four months.
-
Budget overruns and alleged financial fraud on set have stalled progress.
-
The show's executive producer is accused of fund mismanagement.
-
Netflix is now re-evaluating the viability of continuing the project.
A closed-door meeting was recently held between Netflix, creators Raj & DK, and a new executive producer (who has worked with banners like Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment). This suggests Netflix is trying to salvage the project, but no green light has been given yet.
What’s at Stake?-
26 days of footage already shot may be discarded, and reshoots could be required.
-
This puts added financial pressure on the series.
-
Major stars like Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi are already engaged in other projects—making rescheduling even harder.
At this point:
-
No official cancellation has been announced.
-
But sources claim that Raj & DK may consider shutting down the project if issues persist.
-
The future of Rakt Brahmand remains uncertain, and fans may have to wait much longer—or not at all—to see this high-concept series come alive.
