Ban on Muslim-majority countries!

Trump signed an official announcement on Wednesday night, according to which a travel ban has been imposed on 12 countries. The interesting thing is that all the 12 countries have a Muslim-majority population. Their names are – Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Along with this, strict restrictions will also be imposed on the citizens of 7 countries – Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

No compromise on America's security

Donald Trump has said – 'I must work to protect the national security of America and the interests of its citizens. Controlling the entry of citizens of countries that have a hostile attitude towards America is our priority.' He said that the State Department, Homeland Security and intelligence agencies were ordered to prepare a report on January 20 so that it can be assessed which are the countries that can pose a threat to American security.

Trump did this in 2017 too

When Trump took power in the year 2017, a similar order was issued in January. At that time, the US had banned citizens of seven Muslim countries - Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen - from traveling to the US. There was a lot of controversy about this decision and many changes were also made in it. In 2018, the US Supreme Court approved the revised order, after which a partial ban on some countries and a complete ban on some others remained in force.

'Don't call it a Muslim ban'

Although the Trump administration has denied calling this ban a Muslim ban, it is being said that this decision is based on religious discrimination. During his presidential election campaign in 2016, Trump had openly talked about banning Muslims from entering the US and once again he is confirming his same statement.
