Bhubaneswar: Tehsildar of Kuchinda in Odisha’s Samnbalpur district, Mitali Madhusmita Dalei, has been suspended amid allegations of bias in a land dispute case.
It followed a complaint by Rajesh Agarwal, who claimed that Dalei favoured his cousins in dividing ancestral property. Agarwal alleged his cousins fraudulently registered mutation cases by declaring him and his family dead to seize properties of late Jagdish Lal Seth. He further stated that Dalei approved the documents without properly notifying him, facilitating the property transfer without his knowledge.
“They colluded so that we would not receive a notice regarding the same and took away all our properties,” he added.
Taking note of the complaint to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, and Northern Revenue Commissioner, the department place Dalei under suspension. She has been asked to report to the Sambalpur District Collector’s office.
Reaction of the suspended Tehsildar could not be obtained.
