Paradip: In a significant step towards enhancing port infrastructure and operational efficiency, Paradip Port Authority (PPA) and AM/NS Ports signed a Concession Agreement for the mechanisation of the CQ-III berth to handle dry bulk cargo.
The project, for a concession period of 30 years, will ensure shipment of iron ore pellets of AM/NS India through mechanised conveying and a ship loader system equipped with state-of-the-art handling facilities.
The agreement, which highlights a strong, long-term commitment to sustainable and efficient cargo handling, was executed by PPA Chief Engineer Himanshu Sekhar Rout and Subhakant Dash, authorised signatory of AM/NS Ports.
PPA Chairman P L Haranadh and Chief of AM/NS India (Odisha Operations) Suresha G were present at the signing ceremony, along with senior officials and employees of both organisations.
Haranadh emphasised that the project is an important step towards improving berth productivity and promoting eco-friendly coastal cargo handling operations.
Suresha G said the partnership marks a “pivotal moment in our journey to modernise port operations and support industrial growth in the region… The mechanisation of CQ-III berth will reinforce our commitment to operational excellence and environmental sustainability.”
The project will transform PPA into a world-class port hub and strengthen AM/NS India’s logistics capabilities.
