Another 32C scorcher will hit England within a fortnight as the UK braces for a baking start to August. On Tuesday, August 5, the southeast of England will be the hottest place in England, with Kent predicted to reach a peak of 32C at 6pm, according to weather maps by WXCharts.
East Sussex and West Sussex are forecast for highs of 31C, while Essex and Hampshire will both peak at around 30C, and surrounding counties will reach similar heights. While the hottest temperatures will be felt in the south, the Midlands may just get the best of both worlds, with a pleasant 26C to 27C forecast in places like Nottingham and Leicester.
The heat will be focused on the east coast of England, so those in East Yorkshire seaside towns could enjoy highs of 24C. As you move to the west, it gets slightly cooler, like in Manchester, where it is forecast to be around 22C.
After Tuesday, the heat looks like it will stick around for a few days, with temperatures above 30C forecast for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
On Wednesday, the 30C peak will be focused in the southwest. On Thursday, it will be spread throughout the south of England, not just focused on the east, while on Friday the 30C has been forecast in a much more confined space around Oxford.
The Met Office long-range forecast between July 28 and August 6 predicted dry and sunny weather in the south and east.
It said: "The highest chance of drier and sunnier weather is expected to the east of hills, and across south and eastern areas. Later in the period if high pressure builds into the southwest settled weather may develop there too.
"It will be breezy at times, especially in further north. Temperatures are most likely to be near to average or slightly above average for the time of year."
