Host Emma Grede asked Meghan, who stepped down from royal duties alongside Harry in 2020, what she would do "if you could rewrite your public narrative from scratch". In what appeared to be a dig at the royals, she replied: "Yes, I would ask people to tell the truth."
Expanding on her question, Emma then said to the former working royal that she must feel "angry" to have people "lying about [her] all the time".
To which she recalled some advice that she had received from former tennis professional and her friend, Serena Willliams, who appeared as a guest on her previous podcast Archetypes in 2022.
Meghan, who is mum to Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, said: "My dear friend Serena, she told me years ago, 'A lie can't live forever'".
The duchess has previously described her time as a working royal as a time when she "wasn't as empowered with my voice".
Speaking of her return to social media, which took place earlier this year, she added: "It was a great way to get my voice back."
Meghan and Prince Harry, 40, have been at loggerheads with the royals for some time - with the duke recently revealing that he is no longer on speaking terms with his father King Charles.
The couple now reside in California with their two children.
