Prince Harry has accused the "men in grey suits" at Buckingham Palace of trying to put a negative spin on his reunion with his father King Charles earlier this month. Like his late mother Princess Diana, Harry has always expressed a negative view of some unnamed royal courtiers, with The Duke of Sussex reportedly now believing they are trying to ruin his chances of mending his relationship with the King, 76. It is believed Harry thinks these men are giving hostile briefings to the press.
As reported by The Mail on Sunday, a source close to the Duke said: "The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only. The men in grey suits should stay out of it."
Yesterday, a similar sentiment was echoed by Harry's media team, who released a statement saying that certain information about the meeting between the King and Harry earlier this month was untrue. This included the information about a gift Harry had given his father, and claims that Harry said the meeting was very "official".
The spokesperson for the duke said: "Recent reporting of The Duke's view of the tone of the meeting, is categorically false. The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged. While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess."
