The new Premier League season is now just weeks away and fans can save hundreds of pounds while enjoying the biggest fixtures. The 2025/26 campaign is due to get underway on August 15 with title holders Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at Anfield.
It looks set to be a stellar opening weekend, with other standout fixtures including Wolves vs Man City, Chelsea vs Crystal Palace and Man United vs Arsenal. Each of these matches will be shown exclusively on Sky Sports here in the UK, with the broadcaster ramping up its top flight coverage from 128 matches to a minimum of 215 from this season.
In total, Sky says it broadcasts more than 1,400 live football games each season across the Premier League, EFL, SPFL, WSL and Bundesliga, with many games available on its new Sky Sports+ channel. To enjoy all this football, fans must secure a Sky Sports subscription, so with this in mind we've pulled together the best Sky Sports deals ahead of the new season - and they're not all from Sky.
While the broadcaster is offering a price cut on its Sky Sports package, Virgin Media is in the midst of a huge Summer of Sports sale, offering huge discounts on its own bundles with Sky Sports access. So read on for the latest Premier League TV deals from Sky and Virgin.
Sky's discounted sports package isn't exactly new, but that doesn't make it any less enticing. The brand's flagship TV and sports deal is with the Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, which now costs £35 per month.
This is the introductory price for new customers and is £336 cheaper than the standard £49 rate. It comes nine Sky Sports channels including Main Event, Premier League, Football, F1, Golf and Tennis, as well as more than 100 regular TV channels such as Sky Atlantic.
Sky also throws in free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions, while TNT Sports is available for an extra £20, rather than the £30.99 it costs to join direct. For those who prefer flexibility, the same package can be joined on a 31-day rolling basis, but this comes in at £43 per month and £20 upfront.
The main catch with the Essential TV and Sky Sports deal is that after the 24-month term is up, the price will revert to the standard £49, but at this point customers are no longer tied in to a contract. Sky is also among the providers which ups its prices every April, with its TV packages now costing 6.2% more than last year.
While there's no word yet on what the April 2026 price rise will be, this suggests we could expect something similar.
Virgin Media has kicked off its Summer of Sports sale, offering more than £330 off select packages that come with Sky Sports access. Running until September 2, the sale has slashed the price of three TV, Sky Sports and fibre broadband bundles, some of which are at their cheapest price ever.
First up is the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports, which comes with more than 200 TV channels, including eight from Sky Sports such as Main Event, Football and F1. It also has 516Mbps fibre broadband, all of which has been reduced from £65.99 to £54.99 - £264 saving.
Virgin's Biggest Combo bundle is also on sale and offers the same Sky Sports access and 516Mbps broadband, but also comes with Sky Cinema and a free Netflix subscription. Usually £78.99, this package is now on offer at £64.99 - a £336 saving and the biggest discount we've seen.
Virgin says these two plans are at their 'lowest ever monthly price', but there's also a big discount on its 'best value' package. With £120 off, the Mega Volt bundle is still the most expensive option but offers plenty of value for money.
Reduced from £84.99 to £79.99, this comes with more than 230 TV channels including Sky Sports HD and Sky Cinema HD, plus Netflix, 1,130Mbps broadband and an O2 SIM card with unlimited data, minutes and texts. All of the above packages can also be enhanced with TNT Sports as a paid add-on for £18, compared to the £30.99 it costs to join direct.
Similarly to Sky, a downside of the 24-month plans is that they will increase at least twice during the minimum term. For example, Virgin has already confirmed the Bigger Combo bundle + Sports will rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027.
