NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was injured after being shot during an argument over spitting gutkha in the Khajuri Khas area of northeast Delhi, police said on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Aamir, sustained a gunshot wound to his back and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The incident took place on Saturday night following an altercation between neighbours. Police confirmed there was no previous enmity between the parties involved.
During the heated exchange, one of the individuals fired a country-made pistol , injuring Aamir.
A police team arrived at the scene, registered a case, and launched an investigation.
Three suspects have been identified: Aman (20), his father Irfan (40), and Rehan (18). Aman has been arrested, while police continue efforts to apprehend the other accused and recover the weapon.
Further investigations are ongoing.
