Sushmita Sen mourns the loss of her 'Dastak' co-star Mukul Dev, Varun Dhawan offers condolences

Mukul Dev, a multi-faced Indian actor whose career spanned over two decades across the various film industries, died at the age of 54, on May 23 2025. He left behind a career full of versatile roles. Many celebrities from the film industry took to social media to pay tribute to such a brilliant and talented actor. Varun Dhawan and Sushmita Sen also expressed their grief over the tragic demise of the actor on their Instagram handles.

Sushmita who worked with Mukul in 'Dastak', wrote, “Mukuk Dev, Rest in Peace you wonderful soul."


Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to dedicate a reel to the late actor. “RIP, Mukul Dev. This one’s for you,” he wrote.


Mukul Dev had been unwell for days prior to his death and was admitted in the ICU. Despite taking all the efforts, he could not recover. The passing of his mother, along with the separation with his wife and daughter, he was deeply depressed and neglected his health constantly, all of this took a toll on his health.

He is survived by his elder brother, Rahul Dev. The exact cause of his death hasn’t been disclosed to the public yet. Actor Vindu Dara Singh, Mukul’s co-star in Son Of Sardar, confirmed the heartbreaking news to India Today.

Mukul’s talent, warmth and dedication will continue to inspire people ahead. RIP, Mukul Dev.
