LUCKNOW: At around 4.15 pm, the Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati Jan Sadharan Express (15269), derailed at Bhaupur station yard.
The incident occurred on loop line number four, at point number 4. Two coaches—specifically the 5th and 6th from the rear end near the guard brake van—went off the tracks. “Fortunately, all passengers and railway staff on board were reported safe, with no injuries,” read the press statement issued by Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway (NCR) zone.
“Restoration work has begun. Efforts to bring the derailed coaches back onto the track were swiftly initiated and are currently ongoing. Despite the incident, train operations on the down line continue without disruption,” added PRO department of Prayagraj division.
